Yuma Zodeak Costume Review

Yuma!!!!! I would first like to say this is my band and i love their vibe everything. Our whole crew is registered in Yuma in various sections but for this review i would be unbias and true to my opinion eliminating the fact that this is my band of choice.

Zodeak represents the different horoscopes.







To kick it off we have:

Oracle: a person or agency considered to be a source of wise counsel or prophetic opinion, predictions or precognition of the future, inspired by the gods. The oracle is the leader of all horoscopes so surely this may 90% be the first band in the line up.

Frontline: Love the bra on this piece its different and i like it! The beading for this whole costume is beautiful but the backpack is a bit much it starts out really beautiful but the traily bits at the end is questionable. Maybe it would be redeemed on the road but till then...too much.

Backline: This costume is very nice. The purple colour is beautiful. The headpice is really nice with the embellishment of stones on the crown of it and the beautiful shade of purple on it with the peacock feathers adding an "esque-ness" to it. The bra is very well detailed. The belt is tiny but very well decorated.

Male: I truly love this costume. The belt is unique, and the chest piece is different. This styling of chest piece is familiar in Yuma though. The headpiece is simple but generally this costume is a great costume.

Capricorn: December 22 - January 19
Frontline: Headpiece is nice, like the detail at the crown of the head and the mix of colours. Other than that what makes this costume stand out from its Bl? the sleeves..though i most commend the uniqueness of the idea...does serve its purpose but not to an efficient extent there is no real difference between Fl and Bl other than the headpiece and the sleeves where in other costumes there is a backpack or a special bra or something to spice it up.

Backline: As said before, this costume is the frontline without the sleeves and a smaller headpiece. The frontliners of this section should not be happy with this whilst th backline babes should be happy.

Male: Heapiece as horns stick to the theme but its ugly lol. Same chest piece design as the orcla costume but the incorporation of the sea goat on it is cool and also on the belt. The costume could have had more effect if the colour was different to me.

Aquarius: January 20 - February 18
Frontline: This word is becoming a trend with yuma but...unique much? Netting adds a beautifullll effect to the costume some might say its odd but its so in a very good way. The blue just gives off a showy effect that screams "watch me" and the headpiece jus adds to this. This costume is AMAZING!

Backline: This costume is hot. The shade of blue is verrrrryyyyyyy pretty. and with this costume there is a clear distinction between bl and fl without the bl being under-produced. The nettin on the shoulders, bra, belt and foot-piece is very shiny and this would make this costume sparkle on the road.

Male: This costume is ridiculous. Come on man. The headpiece, the chest piece. This beautiful shade of blue to me has been wasted on a rather low-creativity costume.

Pisces: February 19 - March 20
Frontline: Like the corset design with the lavish headpiece and backpack but the beads, though pretty, tend to look like seaweeds and i can't help but get that thought out my mind when i see this costume.

Backline: Another blue costume but its still hot. The mix of colours (blue and purple) for the beads is verrryyy nice. This costume has alot of beads. very welll. the belt is full of beads, the bra is full of beads. the only downfall of this costume is the minnature headpiecce. like seriously yuma. This isn't pretty at all.

Male: Hmmmm it is surely clearly that they are trying to project their theme well but the inclusion of fins everywhere. Too many details on this one Yuma. But this costume is ok. The chest piece is another familiar shape for the band. Nice shade of blue also.

Aries: March 21 -April 19
Female: This gray costume is BEAUTIFUL!!!! WOW yuma. The ram is displayed in the headpiece and the bra is very well detailed and so is the belt. very well done costume YUMA.

Male: The shoulder piece for this costume is a really cool detail and the shape of the headpiece represents the ram which is the animal for this sign. Well done on that part but besides that... thats about it.

Taurus: April 20 - May 20
Frontline: This is a Fl costume!!!!! Screamssssss STOP AND STARE! The play on colours with the headpiece and backpack adds a rich look to the already beautiful costume; the bra is to die for!!! Love the uniqueness of it, this costume is a really beautiful and detailed costume and the effort that im sure was spent on it paid off in full!

Backline: This tauraus costume is HOTTTT!!!! the bra is veryyyy well made. The detailing of the belt is awesome and The headpiece still maintains the theme in it. BTW have you seen this costume in the bmobile add???? Looks even better. This model owns this costume.

Male: Costume is nice when it comes to creativity. The horns in the headpiece was executed well and the chest piece is very creative. The foot piece is not just a simple foot piece so kudos to the designer. I can see this costume looking well on the road!!!!

Gemini: May 21 - June 21
Female: The different shades of green in the headpiece of very nice. The bra has a nice detailing to it especially to the centre of it. The belt is very small. This costume is Bleh!!!!

Cancer: June 22 - July 22

Female: *Jaw Drops* is this a backline? Just a backpack and this costume would have upgraded to FL status. At first i thought this costume was a monokini until i realised that it was just a design of the costume hanging from the neck piece. Great detail. The bra is sssoooo creative with the coral effect of it of a crab. Alot of stones on this costume. The belt is not too extravagant but it works. Thumbs up to this bl costume. No offence but the model does not do this costume justice. In the camp this costume is astonishing.

Male: I adore this costume, and to make it even better it is my horoscope. The red of the pants is very nice and this costume definitely shows that the animal representing this sign is a crab through the belt, the claws of the chest piece and if u go to the mas camp you would see at the back there is a crab back. To me this is a perfect costume. Love this. 

Leo: July 23 - August 22

Frontline: Yuma wow eh! Creative much?! From head to toe this is fierce! Fur on the costume and it lookin sweet...headpiece rather risky but it adds to the aura this costume no doubt creates. Lion is surely embodied in this costume. The back need it own sentence that is PRESSURE tlk bout EXPOSEEEE!!!!!!! Yuma alyuh ovr do it on dis 1 in a gd way.

Backline: We'll ignore the headpiece of this costume since it has been a topic of conversation since YUMA's launch. The fur of this costume makes the costume feel authentic and the detailin of the bra and the material hanging from it makes the costume even more original. The belt has the lion-flavour in it.

Male: Costume is to die for when it comes to lack of creativity in male costumes. Although the headpiece isn't that appealing, i would definitely say that it is very creative. Look closely at the chest piece and you would see Leo's animal head. Awesome. The fabric feels so real another great choice. Excellent costume.

Virgo: August 23 - September 22

Monokini: Don't have much to say about this costume but the difference of the colour of feathers in the headpiece is very different and nice. The bra detailin is nice and love the monokini. The belt is has a beautiful design with the rings on it with a pretty amount of beads hanging from it.

Male: This costume is "ite" but  really don't understand it. Its confusing.

Libra: September 23 - October 22

Frontline: **Jaw drops** Headpiece...bawls...bra...bawls....belt screams....entire costume **deads** This costume is hawttttt!!!!!!!!! Loveee the detail on this though as i say not enough beads i love the little intricate single out thing goin on with the beading its realllyyyy gorgeous. Skimpy in sexy 4 d road!

Backline: Headpiece *Jaw drops*, YUMA u have my jaw only dropping. The headpiece on this is large. A backline with a headpiece this large? YUMA this is value for money. This bra is very very very different. Very different design of bra. This bra would sprakle in the sun. The belt is very well worked up. Very good details with the topaz stones.

Male: Another familiar pattern of the chest piece for males. Costume is simple and safe, thats about it. Its not ugly but its not to die for.

Scorpio: October 23 - November 21

Frontline: Agen....Yuma wow eh! Scorpion effect is surely there.

Backline: Sigh... YUMA you are overdoing it. lol this costume is "FYAH". The wildness of the feathers on the headpices showcases the stingers of a scorpion. The Stones on the bra reminds me of strawberries lol. If you look closely to the top of left bra and the bottom of the right bra both have stingers coming out of it. Great detail. The belt is very well filled with stones.

Male: At first i was skeptical about this costume but when i saw it in the mas camp, it was perfect. The red is flaming, although the pants is the same as Caner's. The chest piece looks like too much but in the mas camp the stones on them glisten and I wanted this costume. As for the headpiece, i'm confused lol but very well costume.

Sagittarius: November 22 - December 21

Female: Besides the skin tone colour of this costume it is very very very very creative. The mohawk effect of this costume is fierce. The ponytail effect is very very very fierce and sticks to the sagittarius theme. The bra has a very cute detailing and the wrap which replaces the belt is nice for those ladies who like more coverage.

Male: I strongly dislike this costume. Thats about it.

Harts - Planet Rock Costume Review

To kick off this blog, a costume review on Harts Band would be done. Reason is that Harts was our initial choice of band (besides Tribe because everybody knows Tribes situation) for C2k11. These are our opinions and it is not meant to sway anybody's decision on Harts.

So to start it off we have:

Ametrine

Sometimes this costumes is to die for and sometimes its not. A purple section is always best and this costume clearly needs more purple in it but if it wasn’t for the purple this costume would have just been ok. The shape of the head piece is a very different and nice shape for a headpiece and the contrast of the colours do look nice here. The bra, as said before needs more purple but ignoring that fact it is actually beautiful. As for the male>>>>> SIGH!!!

Amethyst

Sexy purple! The bra is the best thing on this costume its really pretty and seems to have a little more thought than the ones that are plain and basic. However, the belt though pretty is still basic wit that string of beads in the middle (what is Harts obsession with beading between crotches? seriously!) and the headpiece again pretty but i don't know something about it seems cheap upclose in the mas camp. Its mid December and Harts is still yet to reveal the male to this costume.

Andesine 

Flaming red and that’s just about all to it. This costume is pretty safe with two outstanding elements in it; the headpiece and the styling of the bra. Besides that the costume is jus simple, pretty and flaming red. The male costume is saved by the helmet-looking headpiece.

Aquamarine 

One of my top choices of costumes out of the Planet Rock theme this year. Both male and female costumes are on point. The headpiece in the photo is beautiful and those people who like large and elaborate headpieces well this surely fit your criteria. The monokini  is very well done here but in terms of being practical on the road we’ll have to wait till Carnival Tuesday arrives. As for the male costume, love it. The design of the headpiece is lovely the chest piece is lovely and the belt is just different. Don’t know what about it is but it is. Great costume.

Azurite
I love this costume,the large female option is amazing or as we trinis say "it besss", well done. Even though a dull shade of blue was used the bra is most vivid. Complemented by the stones I can definitely foresee them glistening when the rays of the sun hits it on Carnival Tuesday. The extra piece hanging from the bra adds a little touch extra to the costume and the necklace adds more beauty to the costume. The belt looks well done and looks special with the three loops on the side. I love the male costume headpiece. For the season so far its maybe the only male headpiece that is elaborate and makes the males feel like there costume was well thought out. Besides that the costume is ordinary and looks like the rest of the other harts costume just a different colour.

Chrysocolla

The use of peacock feathers for the headpiece would have been nice if u could actually enjoy its beauty but the use of what seems to be turquoise feathers overpowers the essence of the headpiece so though nice I won't say its much to talk abt. The bra is quite simple a few beads here and there does not make a good costume as well as the  belt which is the same thing. Where is the creativity in these costumes? Colour is beautiful, beads are nice but there must be more to a costume than just beads and colour. As a first time masquerader I don’t want the only thing separating me from the other sections to be a name and a colour. Armband and footband are nice but overall the costume is quite bleh. The male costume looks like it just got added in.

Citrine

I have mixed opinions about citrine. The female large headpiece option looks nice with the feathers, to me thats about it to the costume. The extras to the bra along to the waist side adds something extra to the costume but once again thats about it. The belt is tiny. As for the male costume, this was my costume of choice but after looking at it over and over it looks sort of "cheap." and the 3 metal circles hanging from the chest piece can be a burden on the road so it was no long  an option.

Goldstone
Female costume is very different. Don't know if its in a good way or not but it sure is. The design on the bra, belt and headpiece reminds me of a car grill and the colour of the costume is a little uncarnivalish lol. The male costume actually has a lot going on. The sash, headpiece adds something extra to the costume.

Heliodor

Monokini- Sigh. The best thing about this costume is the headpiece and that isn’t even special. This is creatively….ugly. Sorry Harts but those droopy beads aren’t visually pleasing. I’m a beads person and this costume just isn’t pretty. And the top half of the monokini, really how much support is there?

Bikini- This is a hidden gem. The headpiece is a stopper with the mix of yellow and brown I really like this headpiece 2 thumbs up!! The bra has a really neat design and the detail on it sets it apart from the other….should I say simple pieces.  The belt is a bit small for my liking and a bit more work could have been done maybe more hanging beads or something hanging so when you “whine” your costume can move with you but it’s ok. Armbands and foot bands are pretty which the trend with Harts costumes.

Hematite

That headpiece is gorgeous!! That is a headpieceeeeeee though black is not a colour i would choose for carnival (colour makes a statement) in this costume it looks amazing. Sadly the bra is a let down wit its basic bleh look....two rows of medium sized black beads and a bejewelled strap please harts! The belt as usual is a bleh. Don't get me wrong this costume does luk pretty but the detail on it isn't much to comment on it jus looks pretty and i think it is owed to the use of black n silver which generally pleases the eye. As for the male, nice headpiece i guess lol.

Howlite

Finally. This is what i call CREATIVE!

Monokini- This is beautiful. Love the headpiece its cute and the frilly bits on the top of the monokini just adds to the simple yet effective beauty pf this costume. White somehow adds a bit of class to the costume and the colour on the beads and frillies at the end is definitely a stopper.

Bikini- Just as beautiful as the monokini Harts really made it big with this one. Lovely costume!! need i say more?

Moonstone

This is a costume! From the sexyyy headpiece, although medium size its sexy, to the detailed bra to the belt. Love how the silver beads and droppings meet at the center of the bra its absolutely gorgeous and the belt has the droppins long enough so whoever wears this costume you "inna gear" cause your hangings will move with you!!! Amazing costumeee!!! Love this i really think it's my favourite after howlite. This pic doesn't do this costume justice because in the mas camp it was absolutely stunning. Can definitely see this being a stand out on the road. For the male, I don't know why but this costume tickled my fancy. The headpiece is simple but somewhat different, the chains on the chest piece just adds something different than the other costumes. Love this section.

Peridot

This costume definitely followed the theme of peridot colourwise. As a friend of mine said, the bra looks like moss. lol. but what makes the costume stand out is the jewelry coming from the bra and looping to the side of the belt. if it wasn't for this element this costume would have to be scrapped. Headpiece is OMG!!! The shape and colour contrast is beautiful. 

Male: The headpiece reminds me of hulk lol. and the handpiece is different but thats just about it.

Rhodochrosite
Beautiful costume and lovely shade of pink. The female monokini option is well done and pretty which has the Harts signature design on it but it doesn't really look practical on the road. The headpiece is "bleh." The bikini options is nice with the contrasting shades of pink and the bling hanging from the bra but thats just about it to the costume. The belt is very sparkly but tiny. The large headpiece options is beautiful and very nice. As for the male costume, it would have been a perfect male costume minus the four feathers hanging from the belt and the chest piece. the headpiece once again is a well done headpiece for the males like azurite. Well done. I also didn't understand the male colour of choice when compared to the female in the section also.

Sardonyx
This costume reminds me of gladiator, somehow fits Tribes theme lol. I don't really know if to say it's nice or not one thing for sure it is fierce. The strap ups on the stomach area looks nice but bad sunburn and beads are lacking (but im a bead person). The headpiece is really REALLY COOL! and fierce again. It's not simple but yet it is so nice but not really effective. The male costume doesn't do anything for me here.

Turquoise in Matrix
The colour is beautiful.....but other than that, bland much? Online this costume looks amazing but in the mas camp it looked quite basic and was a great disappointment. Im most certain enhancements were utilised on the pictures! The bra is plain with a splash of beads here and there...and surprise! Same thing for the belt. The stones hanging from the neck can't possibly be comfortable while one is "causing it" on the roads and the stones hanging from the crotch is a bit odd.

As for Harts, there costumes are pretty and it follows the theme through colour. The theme is boring though. below are the list of sold out sections.
