Tribe... Take Me To 2K12 Review

Before beginning the review I would like to state to those who regularly comment about what expertise i have to be doing costume reviews that I am a costume with an opinion and my opinions are not being shared to influence others decisions about a particular or anything.
Also I would like to thank Saucy of Trinidad Carnival Diary for the pictures.

On to the review and we begin with:

Cancun- Individual

Cancun

I must say at first glance I think big bird. The feathers are a mixture of dull blue and pretty blue and the pretty blue does not accent the dull blue and the green feathers highlight the dull ones, however, big and feathers is carnival and I cannot say that I didn't look at the costume and smile. The beading is beautiful on both bra and belt and would look stunning when the sun hits it. The shape of the belt is also something nice but I don't think the hanging beads to the front are enough. Maybe just me.

Front line

So Tribe; other than the extra feathers and wired bra what is the difference between the individual and the front line? Shouldn't the individual be just that. An Individual! Lighting probably does wonders because I know these feathers not all that different from the individual. Other than that though it is a nice costume I do like the head to shoulder transition it is smooth and pretty and though like a bird by the shoulder it adds to the effect.

One of the worse costumes I have ever seen. The headband looks like piece of cloth wrapped around the head and that "chest piece" thing looks like a bag strap. This costume is poor and ridiculous.

Cyprus- Individual

Love this costume! The detail is amazing, from the intricate feather and bead working on the monokini to the feather and kite thing in the back. The headpiece is quite unique not sure about it's practicality on the road with the wind and it's proximity to the mouth however it is beautiful and something to be appreciated. The accessories to the costume are also amazing and bring out the aesthetic of the costume especially the feathers to the feet.

Front line

Another unique costume! Detail again is amazing! The monokini is a great mix of wire and material; the bra gives the appearance that it was knitted and the monokini connection is really creative nice to see that it is at the neck as well, the jewelling is just dazzling can't wait to see this on the road! The backpiece though just the regular feather contraption makes the great detail of the monokini stand out, the designers of this costume really put some thought into their work. 

Male

This costume passes for those guys who settle for just a shorts and a band. But if this costume had a chest piece that had effort in it instead of the necklace it would be a stand out male costume.

Dubai- Individual

Dubai

Visually appealing. Very creative and the colours all seem to work well with each other. Hopefully this individual get its own space on the road because this costume definitely needs its own space.

Frontline

All reviews I have seen this problem brought up already but literally its ridiculous to have two sections of the same colour but you can look at it as those who didn't get into South Beach can choose Dubai. The tail is a very cool addition to this costume but i guess this is for the ladies who don't wine on anyone or loves the front-to-front position wine. The bra detailing is insufficient and looks like their was a material shortage.

Fiji - Individual

Fiji

Costume is amazing but looking at it as a individual costume something seems missing. The style of the headpiece is nice and effective and the beading of the bra is really intricate and well done. The colour combo is beautiful but something is missing.

Actually at first i thought this was the individual costume. This costume is "Gawjuss" and amazing. Literrally!!!!! The arm pieces attached to the headpiece is unique and it actually seems practical because the model worked this costume on stage with her hands in the air showing the its not affecting the stability of the headpiece. Love the extra part of the costume by the stomach area its adds what was missing from the individual costume. The belt is a tad bit skimpy but its very pretty.

Sigh. Don't even like the colour of the shorts. Could have been teal. The chest piece looks something like Amazon male from last year and instead of it being improved it looks worse. Atleast the headpiece is nt a simple band around the head.

Ibiza- Individual

I am in love with the colour red for carnival when used properly an here it has been used properly. The shape of the headpiece and the backpack is different and the monokini style connecting to the bottom piece is ingenius. Very nice costume.

Frontline

Love Love Love Love Love this section. Although it looks like scorpio re-invented, ignoring that fact it is a hot section. Really love the different monokini design and once again the red is flamming. One of the most stand out costumes in the collection.

Male

This costume actually looks like some thought was put into it. You can see the matador vision behind and i would say is definitely better than the other male costume thus far. Again red costume  is always a one I am interested in so clearly stands out from the rest.

Johannesburg- Frontline and Backline

Peter Elias clearly brought it home with this costume. Its not as nehkeed as the rest and the use of an animal print and to have it looking as fierce as this costume is is very creative.The collar is not too much but not too little and the whole costume wasn't over done with feathers. Only problem is that the belt could have a little more substance to it because it can pass for just a bathsuit. Also the model did justice to this costume and portrayed it very well.

Johannesburg

Very nice indeed again Mr.Elias. This designer clearly recognizes that males also are involved in carnival. He diverts away from the board shorts and provides and spandex animal print shorts for the fellas and the chest piece is cool. I don't know what the piece of material the model has his hand is for but that can be left home lol.

Las Vegas- Individual

Las Vegas

If I am not mistaken but a decorated panty seems lazy to me. Vegas is all about lights and colour and this costume has none at all. The headpiece design is very nice and the back pack looks a little Izumi Clan.

Actually love the idea of the shorts instead of the panty but I am sure many ladies would ask if there is a panty or thong option lol. Futhermore, I actually prefer this costume design than the individual because of it looks more finished. Hope the connector from the bra to the waistband is adjustable so it can provide the effect fopr each masquerader.

Really thought this was Johannesburg option B male costume. Also since basically all the males are receiving is a board shorts why have the same two colours of a board shorts as two different sections? This costume looks out of place because I don't see Vegas or any relation to female costume.

Manhattan- Individual

Steups. I really nearly did not see a difference. Tribe? It looks like you got lazy there is no real difference between your individual and your frontline besides the bra. Where is the creativity as this also looks like Ice Warriors bigger sister. The bra shape is cool. Don't have much to say about this costume.

This costume is just  "bleh". It is pretty but same comments as the individual.

Again, how is this manhattan male? Seriously Tribe. There is no black in the manhattan female, so why the whole male costume is black? Besides that the costume is decent but its carnival and that hat is a bad idea to me.

Rio- Individual

Clearly somebody didn't watch the movie Rio for inspiration. Colour is Rio using one colour on this costume was a big mistake it does not represent this destination at all. Yellow? It looks like big bird breaking out of her shell and showing her sexy side.

Again Tribe. If it was not for the wire bra I would not have realised this was a different costume.

This costume is just ok. Atleast a chest piece was designed.

Santorini- Individual

The arm pieces look awkard but the costume is looks well detailed and being a fan of the monokini i would say this one is nicely done ignoring the fact that its the product of Osage and Amazon having sex.

South Beach- Individual

Gawjusss.. Love this costume. The style of the bra, the colours, the headpiece, the backpack. Wicked costume.

Still in love with frontline option as the individual one.

I guess the males nehkeed also bcuz this medallion and a shorts is a complete failure.

St. Tropez - Individual

Wow!!! lol first thing i said when i saw this costume. Its large and needs a lot of space ont he road. The hot pink is sick and the costume design is awesome. The model carried this costume professionally on stage therefore it is practical. Wicked costume.

Very pretty costume. It looks like it can fit in with any Harts section for its prettyness. Love the design of the backpack and the costume is not that naked.

Male

Generic Male costume. Bleh.

Generally the female costumes are naked but very very pretty. Although there were alot of remixes Tribe would still sell out because costumes are only half of what makes carnival, band service and experience is the other part and they seem to have that down.

As for the males, I feeling like the designers realised that they play mas also the night before the launch.
